1) Find a place
to buy your Domain Name. This is just a name, such as www.ibaam.com.
Our recommendation is www.godaddy.com.
They’re cheap and reliable. Suitable price range: $7 - $10/ year for
1 domain. 2) Find a
hosting service. There are plenty, try going to Google and search for
“hosting cpanel fantastico” as these will yield you the most features.
Some examples include www.pctechmaster.com , and www.globat.com
(tons of space, but not sure if there is a Cpanel) Suitable price
range: $0 - $10 setup fee + $5 - $10/ month for any basic/cheapest plan. 3) Now you have
bought these two services, you must link the name to your host. To do
this, LOGIN to your domain provider (the one you found in step 1) and goto
Modify Nameservers. There will be already existing ones, that are usually
just temporary hosts. Change these nameservers to that of your hosting
service (the one you found in step 2). In most cases, it will be
NS1.SERVICENAME.COM and NS2.SERVICENAME.COM where SERVICENAME is the name
of the website in step 2. Login to the email attributed to your domain
provider and confirm the nameserver change. 4) Since these changes take 24-72 hours, wait, and when it is finished, www.yourname.com should correspond to the file manager of your hosting service. Now you can upload via FTP. You’re done. |
