Launch of Super Smash Bros Brawl -- Posted by Goldporygon on Tuesday, March 18 2008

Few days ago, the highly anticipated flagship Wii game Super Smash Bros Brawl (SSBB) has been released into the United States. It's the sequel to smash hit "Super Smash Bros Melee", and introduces a larger character selection.

In North America, Brawl sold over 874,000 units on launch day as well as a total of over 1.4 million units in its first week, making it the fastest selling title in Nintendo of America's history. This represents a worldwide total of 2.8 million copies.

All Melee characters except for Pichu and Dr Mario returned; Mewtwo, Young Link, and Roy are replaced by similar counterparts Lucario, Toon Link, and Ike.

Some characters went through some modifications: Luigi's skillset was changed, many overpowered characters in Melee were nerfed accordingly: Jigglypuff's rest is utterly weak, Peach's down smash is no where near the caliber of before, Fox's reflect does not have the ability to KO quite as easily. Several weaker characters got buffed: Bowser and Pikachu, to name a few. Technicalities such as Wavedashing and L Canceling are completely eliminated. Brawl introduces several new beautiful stages.

The Entire Character list is as follows:

1. Diddy Kong (from Donkey Kong Country),
2. Ike (from Fire Emblem),
3. King Dedede (from Kirby),
4. Lucario (from Pokemon),
5. Lucas (from Mother 3/EarthBound 2),
6. Meta Knight (from Kirby),
7. Olimar,
8. Pit (from Kid Icarus),
9. Pokemon Trainer (controls 3 Pokemon, you switch between Squirtle, Ivysaur, and Charizard to fight),
10. R.O.B. (Robotic Operating Buddy — from Gyromite & Stack-Up),
11. Solid Snake (from Metal Gear Solid),
12. Sonic the Hedgehog,
13. Wario,
14. Wolf (from Star Fox).
15. Bowser (from Mario),
16. Captain Falcon (from F-Zero),
17. Donkey Kong,
18. Falco Lombardi (from Star Fox),
19. Fox McCloud (from Star Fox),
20. Ganondorf (from The Legend of Zelda),
21. Ice Climbers,
22. Jigglypuff (from Pokemon),
23. Kirby,
24. Link (from The Legend of Zelda),
25. Luigi (from Mario),
26. Mario,
27. Marth (from Fire Emblem),
28. Mr. Game & Watch (from classic Game & Watch games),
29. Ness (from EarthBound),
30. Pikachu (from Pokemon),
31. Princess Peach (from Mario),
32. Princess Zelda (and her Sheik transformation after using the down special move),
33. Samus Aran (and Zero Suit Samus),
34. Toon Link (from The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker),
35. Yoshi (from Mario).

Send an email with your friend code and I will post it here! We will be writing guides for certain characters, and also feel free to submit your guides to us as well. We will have videos posted at www.norematch.com, so check back! Enjoy!

Dota 6.44(b) -- Posted by Goldporygon on Wednesday, June 13 2007
A new version of dota has been released (after awhile), featuring 6 new heroes. After some time has passed, while people have tried out the heroes, we conclude that the Dark Seer seems to stand out the most out of the six. The Templar assassin hasn't really shined in her games due to her relatively weak ultimate, Pit Lord's portal got nerfed into the depths of hell (it can't even be used to backdoor anymore), but Undying still has good pushing power, while Huskar can deal a decent amount of damage but is very item dependent (also features the first ranged STR hero). Finally, the panda is decent, but not quite the powerhouse. He's intelligence with 600 range, and is a physical damage dealer, but doesn't pack enough of a punch and does not pack any nukes either. The redeeming thing he has is alot of strength, otherwise, heroes like Lina Inverse (who also packs an attack speed boost for much less mana), and Vengeful Spirit (who's swap is almost always better than his grapple for offensive purposes) make him look bad. No items were introduced in this patch, but hopefully next time. Also, tooltips were improved in that the mana cost is now shown as well. The only thing missing now, is the cast range and cast delays.

Warcraft III Frozen Throne Patch Version 1.21, Youtube Downloader -- Posted by Goldporygon on Monday, January 22 2007
A New patch (V 1.21) has come out for Warcraft III Frozen Throne, with minor fixes and compatibility issues with Macs. However this is a new sub number so older replays may probably not be able to be viewed. Norematch.com has a mirror for the patch, for those of you unable to install the patch through battle.net. Click HERE . Enjoy. Please visit the Forums for further information or cracks information. If you have any cracks links, please post them in the forums. Thanks.

*Another utility has been added to the Utility downloads section: the Youtube VDownloader. This program allows you to download Youtube videos in AVI format simply by feeding the URL into the program. It's just that easy. Check it out in the Utlities and Cracks section. Enjoy.

Dota 6.39 - Two new heroes and Improvments -- Posted by Goldporygon on Thursday, January 4 2007
Dota version 6.39 features two new heroes, both which has sparked mass controversy. Some say they're utterly BROKEN yet some say they're utter crap. The thing is, the Geomancer's copies are strong but if one dies, you die; therefore you really only have 1000 HP at level 18. The Priest has a very nice defensive ultimate but his other moves really do not shine. Turn your feedback to the Ibaam Forums ! Isospeedrix has had his say on it already, see whether you agree or not.

The other improvments made are Godsends that should have happened sooner. Showing the cooldowns, wow that is great. Icefrog apparantly also decided to toy around with his users by putting invisible frogs around the map. Overall, this map is quite a fun map and deserves an applause.

New News System -- Posted by Goldporygon on Wednesday, December 27 2006
Ibaam just moved to a new server, and unfortunately, does not comply with the old news program "Newspro." Therefore, all past news will not be in the archive anymore, but instead, news will start afresh starting with this post. However, for nostalgic purposes, the old news may be viewed in a raw format at http://www.ibaam.com/newspro/newsdat.txt. Have a happy new year everyone. Stay tuned as the new year will present more anime sections for Ibaam, more music reviews and downloads for Musicspeed, and a bunch of goodies for Norematch. Also, please join the FORUMS as the forums was reset and fresh again. Any catagory suggestions should be voiced in "Site Feedback". Thanks.
